According to the Nassau Daily Review-Star June 29, 1949 he turned 91 on Monday June 27, 1949. Address as of June 29, 1949 was 297 South Main Street, possibly in Freeport, New York His son Stephen Carpenter was a police Lieutenant at the time. Census of April 26, 1940 listed his age as 81 and wife Mary E. at 67 or 69.
